#61-G7 ~ Galatians 1:1 continued
We are still just getting started as we lay a firm foundation for our study of Galatians. We find that the apostle Paul is the human author to this great book. We’re also seeing how he is OUR apostle. In most of Christianity it is thought that such is the apostle Peter’s role. But that is no correct! It is the apostle Paul who is the apostle to the Gentiles while Peter was the apostle to Israel, the circumcision. It is the Pauline epistles that are vital to our understanding of the gospel for salvation today, as well as the Christian life. Without his writings, we put ourselves under the Mosaic Law and more that is not our program. Always bear in mind that while all the Bible is FOR us, it is not all TO us or ABOUT us. To seek to blend it all together only creates mass confusion. Our objective should always be to “rightly divide” God’s word of truth, so that we can be positioned to live a life that’s acceptable and pleasing to Him.
