Truth: What are some basic truths I can always rely on?
1) I know that the Bible is God’s wisdom, representing the way to a happy and fulfilling life. Hence, I know my life will not be a matter of chance, but a matter of choice determined by my submission to the authority of God’s Word.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 8:17-19
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
Romans 15:4
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Ephesians 1:3
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
2) I know that I can rely upon the accuracy of the Bible for God’s leadership of my life. However, I also know that I must learn and apply the meaning of rightly dividing the Scriptures.
II Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
II Timothy 2:15

3) I know that my salvation from eternal condemnation is a gift that is mine by God’s grace through my personal faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by my own works of righteousness.
Romans 4:4-5

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
I Corinthians 15:1-4

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

5) I know that my salvation is perfectly secure because there is not a sin I could ever commit that was not judged in Jesus Christ when He was crucified. Furthermore, I know that even as a disobedient child of God, I will still be a child of God forever.
II Corinthians 5:21

Galatians 3:26

Romans 8:38-39

6) I know that because of all God’s mercies that have been expressed toward me, I owe Him a life of complete submission to His will in all things.

7) I know that I have a powerful and wealthy heavenly Father who has promised to meet my every need according to His riches.
Philippians 4:19
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 3:20

8) I know that I have access to God through prayer to speak and get a response from Him regarding anything that concerns me. I therefore have nothing to fear.
Philippians 4:6-7

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11) I know that I will be rewarded in eternity in accordance with my obedience to God’s Word.

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
I Corinthians 3:10-15

13) I know that it is God’s desire for me to be completely successful in the fulfillment of His plan for my life, and that only my own foolishness can hinder this.
