#211-EP11 ~ We finally begin the long list of Blessings God has made available to all.
Question: What are some of these spiritual blessings?
We’re going to see some of these in these opening verses. In my last video we noted this first blessing– 1-Knowledge of our—forgiveness
We tell unbelievers Christ died for their sins. That’s an essential part of our gospel message to the world. Christ died on the cross, paying the full penalty of sin for all.
Ephesians 1:7
7 In [Preposition EN – in or BY (the dative of means)] whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Being OF GOD this is spoken of as a blessing. When people hear the gospel, they find out about it. If they believe it, they get saved. As believers we’re to be aware of what Christ accomplished on the cross of Calvary. It was there that forgiveness of sins was provided for all. Not salvation, but the forgiveness of sins! It was BY His work there that this was provided.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 and especially verse nineteen make this clear.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. [Emphasis added]
