#151–G97 ~ Galatians 4:5-6

Gary Googe Feb 16

One of my main objectives in doing these videos is to answer questions about the Bible that are being asked. Hopefully I’m achieving that.

I begin this lesson by talking about the free salvation we have through faith in what God did to provide it through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I make it clear from Scripture that personal works have nothing to do with the means to gaining it.

Our study on this video begins with some thoughts about resurrection. Here we note that BOTH believers and unbelievers will some day be resurrected [John 5:28-29] . I here explain some details about this. It is because of Christ’s resurrection that we will be given this new resurrection body. Philippians 3:20-21 promises this. Here we see that as believers we’ll get a resurrection body with all the wonderful features of Christ’s resurrection body. The capabilities of that body are quite numerous. Everything Christ did in His resurrection body we’ll be able to do in ours. 2 Corinthians 5:1-2 explains that no matter what happens to our present earthly body, we’ll get a new one without all the aches and pains of the one we have now. Certainly, the older we get the more we appreciate this promise. A fourth concept I mention on this video is to do with the limitless travel we’ll get to do in our new resurrection body. Acts 1:9-11 Is a passage that illustrates that for us. I then make some comments about the differences of the Second Coming and that which we speak of as the Rapture. You can find an article about this on our website at 4Us2UsMinistries.com These TWO events, the Rapture and the Second Coming, are not the same. The Rapture is for us and the Second Coming is for Israel. Our resurrection occurs at the time of the Rapture. Regenerate Israel’s occurs at Christ’s Second Coming when He returns to the Earth to establish His Kingdom. John 21:12 and following shows us even more of what we’ll be able to do in our resurrection body.

I then go into some comments about what is called Purgatory. As per the 66 Books of the Bible, such a place does not exist. Here, too, you’ll find an article about this on our website. Just put the word purgatory in the search box and hit Enter. I should take you right to the article. After death you’ll either go to Heaven or Hell. There’s no in between place for anyone. It is always one or the other.

Matthew 28:5-10 is the next passage I address in this study. Here we have Christ’s disciples visiting His empty tomb. This situation occurred not long before Christ’s ascension into Heaven. It all serves to encourage us and to help us see that there’s good reason to be confident about our future in a resurrection body.

We then go on in our passage to Galatians 4:6. There I make some statement about some important concepts concerning prayer. Romans 8:26-27 also relates to this where we see that even though we may not know what to pray at times, God works that out for us. We just need to get on with the praying making our requests known to God. Intercession is made in our behalf to ask what is actually needed by us.

My concluding remarks are about the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit every believer has – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Our study next time will continue with more on this.
