#137–G83 ~ Galatians 3:21-22
I begin by pointing out some things about salvation and the grace of God. Our works have nothing to do with it. I Corinthians 15:1-4 spells it out. Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly states that our works have absolutely nothing to do with it. This includes the Mosaic Law. As much as anything it just served to show us our need for a Savior.
I then I go into some important comments about Bible translations. God speaks to us today through the Scriptures. That’s why it is so important that we understand that and get the message right. And that’s why I make the comments I do on this video about Bible translations and more.
I then get back to our passage and verse twenty-two. A point of emphasis here is the faith OF Christ, that is, His fidelity. Christ is worthy of our faith for salvation. Faith in anything else won’t do. Only faith in Christ’s work makes salvation a GIFT to us. Otherwise it would be a reward for works. But that is NOT the case at all. Ephesians 2:8-9 and other passages make that plain.
I close out with a lot of emphasis on what people must believe for salvation, not what they do. Yes! It is that simple and it is that wonderful.
