#141-G87 ~ Galatians 3:22-23
Here I speak of what is sometimes called “the faith.” In this passage it represents what someone must do [or believe] to be saved and delivered from the condemnation of God. That salvation is a gift. It is NOT something earned or deserved. As unbelievers we were once in a hopeless and helpless situation. We desperately needed salvation. The means to that salvation was provided as an expression of God’s love toward us [Romans 5:8]. To gain that salvation personal faith must be expressed toward what God did through Jesus Christ to provide it for us [Ephesians 2:8-9]. That was namely His death, burial, and resurrection. It is that work that MUST be the object of one’s faith for salvation to be granted [1 Corinthians 15:1-4].
You may recall our study of Galatians 2:1-2, & 7. These are important verses I review briefly in this study. There we see how the gospel message Paul taught was not the same as what had gone before. Therefore, our message of salvation today is NOT the same as the gospel of the circumcision that Peter and the other apostles proclaimed. Misunderstanding of this has certainly created a lot of confusion and resultant division. You can find numerous articles about all this on our website – 4Us2UsMinistries.com.
I then conclude with a discussion about this gospel that is ours I and compare it to the one that was given to Peter and the other apostles. You can see the contrast in these gospels by comparing what is said in Acts 2:36-38 with what Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. These gospel messages ARE NOT the same. I close by making some comments about some of their differences.
