#94-G40 ~ Galatians 2:1-3 and Genesis 17:1-16
We continue here with our study in Galatians 2, but we also go to some other passages that are quite related–Acts 15-1-17, I Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 2:16 and Genesis 17:1-16 are the ones. These other passages give us some background for Paul’s message in Galatians. The most important point of all is that salvation has always come by faith. However, it is what people had to believe to be saved that’s changed. Even the apostle Peter’s gospel message is not the same as Paul’s. It was the apostle Paul that God used to introduce a whole new program, even a new gospel. That comes to full expression in Galatians 2:7 where they’re put side by side in one verse–the gospel of the circumcision and the gospel of the uncircumcision. lt was the apostle Paul that God used to disclose ours today–the gospel of the uncircumcision that is also called the gospel of the grace of God. For sound spiritual growth and ultimately maturity, these distinctions must be known and understood.
