#70-G16 ~ Galatians 1:2c

The apostle Paul became the first member of what is now called the body of Christ.  1 Timothy 1:15-16 clearly states this.  Until then he was an enemy to God.  Such is the case for everyone today who has not accepted God’s provision for their salvation.  That provision is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:1-4).  Several passages of Scripture clearly state our condition as God’s enemies prior to our salvation.  Faith in Christ gives us a new status in our relationship with God.  We are then said to be justified so that we are then no longer God’s enemies.  We will look at several passages that speak of all this—Romans 5:9-10, Romans 11:27, and Colossians 1:21.
