#166-G112 ~ Galatians 5:1
Thank you for joining us today!
I begin today’s study with some explanation about the name of this ministry–4Us2UsMinistries. All the Bible is FOR us but it is not all TO us. That’s an extremely important principle every believer needs to be aware of. I hope you are.
I begin with some comments about the meaning on “standing fast” in Galatians 5:1. This is to do with standing firm in the things Paul had teaches. Instead of sticking with the things Paul had taught the Galatians, they’ve deviated to the things of Judaism. Paul seeks to correct them. I then explain not only what was going on in Galatia, but how all this relates to how people pervert the gospel pertaining to salvation today, making it a matter of personal works, rather than the one work of Christ through His death, burial, and resurrection. Only through faith in Christ ALONE can salvation be obtained by someone today.
I then go to 1 Thessalonians 3:8. I point out that there, too, the people needed to stand firm in the things they’d been taught. Life has so many people who would pull us away from the truth. It is always a battle to resist the temptation to be badly influenced by them. Here I encourage all the listeners to not only watch the videos on this website, but to also read and study the articles that are on our 4Us2UsMinistries.com website.
The last part of this video is dedicated to providing some instruction on what is typically called The Great Commission. For that we look at Matthew 28:19-20 and the fuller account of that in Mark 16::14-20. How very misunderstood these wonderful passages are. But as wonderful as they are, neither one tells us what OUR commission is for us today. Much can be said about all this. My time for it was limited on this video. You’ll find an article on our website that explains it fully that’s entitled—Commission: Which one is ours? I hope you’ll take the time to read it. You’ll find it very helpful.Tags:
