#118-G64 ~ Galatians 3:6
After a brief review we continue our study with Galatians 3:6. The emphasis continues to be on salvation by grace through faith in Christ ALONE. In every generation people want to add to what God has accomplished through Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection. In this study I talk about Abraham, as per verse 6. Abraham knew nothing about Jesus Christ, but he believed what God told him and that gained for him what is called justification. Regarding verse 6, I state several major points.
1. Abraham didn’t just believe IN God, but he believed what He said. Believing in God never saved anyone. There I also talk about James 2:19 and Genesis 1:1
2. Because salvation is free and so wonderful we should be eager to share this message of good news with others. II Corinthians 5:17-21 is a summary statement about our message.
3. Most people have been blinded to this truth of justification by faith alone. People always tend to want to add something to what God has provided. II Corinthians 4:3-4
4. Because so many have been blinded to this truth, so much of evangelism involves convincing people that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 and Titus 3:5
