#247-EP47 ~ Ephesians 2:19-22 – Getting to be a “saint” and in “the household of God”
Ephesians 2
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
We become members of the household of God by faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and the resultant regeneration which literally means to be born again.
John 1:11-13
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
But note more of what Paul tells us about this in Galatians 3:26-27. We have gained an intimate union with Christ the moment we were saved. He is the HEAD of this body we’re a part of–1 Corinthians 12:13-20 and 2 Timothy 2:11-13
We then continue with our passage in Ephesians 2:19-22 This paragraph is a description of our blessed situation as believers.
1– God’s initial place of dwelling was Heaven. Isaiah 11:4
2—God next lived in Solomon’s temple. 1 Kings 8:27
3—God now lives in the body of every believer. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
I then conclude with another look at our Ephesians 2 passage, verses 19-22.
