#215-EP15 ~ The promises of Everlasting Rewards for Faithfulness

Gary Googe May 17

We continue is this study with a thirteenth blessing God provides for every believer.

13 – The promise of everlasting rewards for our faithfulness.

2 Corinthians 5:10

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Will there be equality in Heaven? NO! We all need to live— “in the light of eternity.” A day is coming when there will be everlasting reward provided for our faithfulness.

1 Corinthians 3:8-15

8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry [GEORGION = tilled land], ye are God’s building [OIKODOME = building].

10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder [ARCHITEKTON = architect], I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed [BLEPO = earnest contemplation (be careful)] how he buildeth thereupon.

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed [APODALUPTO = made known to determine its actual value] by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

14 If any man’s work abide [MENO = remains—stands the test] which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Question: What will the rewards be?

We’re not to confuse this with the Millennial kingdom rewards for another people of faith. No specific info has been given except one thing—positions of authority.

2 Timothy 2:10-13

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him [being identified with the cross of Christ], we shall also live with him:

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us [of these rewards]:

13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
