#155-G101~Galatians 4:12 continued
Here the apostle Paul sets himself up as OUR example. The fact of the matter is that if you want to “follow Christ” today, you need to learn and apply the teachings of the apostle Paul. As per the title of this ministry, the whole Bible is FOR us but it is not all TO us or about us. That’s an extremely important principle. Without a clear understanding of what it means you won’t go far in your spiritual growth. You’ll come to think that the Bible is filled with contradictory statement. It certainly is not, but it will certainly look that way if you don’t learn and the principle of right division and the way to correctly sort these things out. In this passage the apostle Paul emphasizes this principle.
We continue our study on all this by first going to 1 Corinthians 4:15-16. Here I’m pointing out the extreme importance of understanding that the apostle Paul is OUR apostle today. It is not to say that Peter and the others have nothing to say to us. But it is to say that much of what these others communicate if not the same, quite different from the directives Paul gives us. It is because of the confusion about this that we have all the various church denominations and the beliefs they promote. They all tend to quote Scripture for what they believe but so much of it was never directed to us in this era that is called the Dispensation of Grace. Romans 11:13 and following is an important passage that relates to all this. Other passages I discuss on this video that relate to this are Acts 20:24, 1 Corinthians 11:1, Philippians 3:16-17, and Galatians 2:4-7.
