Ephesians 2:14-18

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

-There was a partition in the temple area that separated Gentiles from Jews.

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

As believers we are now all members of the Body of Christ, having become one with Him.

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace [proclaiming reconciliation] to you which were afar off [GENTILES], and to them that were nigh.

18 For through him we both [Jew and Gentile] have access BY one Spirit unto the Father.

At “PEACE” speaks of our having been reconciled. We were His enemies, but now as believers we’re at “peace” with Him.

Romans 5:1

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

The context of the word peace determines what is meant.

Romans 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

I have articles about reconciliation on this website— Reconciliation: What does it mean to BE reconciled? Here’s the command—how do you obey this?

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you [unbelievers] by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he [God the Father] hath made him [Jesus Christ] to be sin for us [all mankind], who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

To accept it you accept HIS provision for your salvation through Jesus Christ. Both Jews and Gentiles are now treated equally. The offer is made to both with there being no preference of one over the other. This union happens, not by water baptism, but by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:13

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Romans 12:4-5

4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

This is the ONE baptism of our time, just one! And water is not involved at all.

Ephesians 4:5

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

It occurs instantly when anyone accepts Paul’s gospel message –1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
